The last memories in the middle east (1)

Image
The start in the Middle East was quite sudden, and in some ways, life wasn't easy. Of course, when I say life wasn't easy, I mean it was enjoyable, always challenging, and filled with excitement every day. The first impression of Dubai was incredibly strong. (View of Dubai Downtown from the west of Dubai - 10/26/2020) After a flight of over 10 hours from Korea, I arrived in Dubai. The sunset light shining through the brown sand dust, and the skyscrapers that looked like a bundle of arrows gathered together, evoked more excitement about being in a new place than worry about living in the Middle East. I still remember the bags we picked up at the airport: exactly 23 suitcases and boxes, and naturally, we rented a van. The back seat of the van was filled with our two kids and luggage, and thinking back, it was quite a nerve-wracking drive. The day had already turned to night, and an oblivious Asian was driving on the vibrant highways of Dubai at night to get to the hotel. We sim...

Surprising, thanks full, and planning

I've never checked how many views my blog has received, but I was recently surprised to see it and felt sorry for the readers. This made me consider revising my content. I remember when I first started, I had about three readers after posting a couple of pieces of my story. The reason I began writing on this blog was to promote my YouTube videos. Although I’m not giving up on uploading to YouTube, I took a break for about six months, and as a result, I stopped writing for the blog too. Lately, my job has been quite demanding—more than I expected—and writing is a significant part of my life. However, I’ve rediscovered blogging! After creating a new blog, I looked back at my personal blog, Bob’s Explore. I can’t promise how many new stories I’ll be able to post consistently or frequently, but I’m starting it up again. Of course, I need to change the look of the blog first. Bob.

At the top of the highest mountain in UAE

Image
Snow, it covered all. The way to the mountain is a suffering way. - From the Soweol Kim’s poetry "Mountain" - Yes. It is true. Middle east has snowy days in somewhere. The mountain. At the top of the mountain, there has snow almost every winter. Of course, it doesn’t similar happen like the poetry, hope it could cover all. Every year, I read that from a newspaper once or twice. It is just windy that mixed snowing in the rocky mountain, so couldn’t match with a cup of hot cocoa or hot soup. In terms of religions, the foundation of the roman catholic and Muslim, “ through the wildness ” would be looked like this scene.  The highest mountain in UAE is Jabel Jais (Jabel mean is a hill, a mountain, or somewhere is higher than nearby in Arabic. It is still used for a village in Dubai or other Arab countries). Someone said it is 2000m above from sea level, but official data shows it around 1996m. First, let’s see the below map. You can see what a politically complex area. t looks ...

Picnic/Day trip in UAE: The best beach near Dubai

Image
U AE is the best country to enjoy beaches in all seasons. Of course, summer days are not advisable (it is possible but you definitely would get sunburned all over) to stay or play at beaches, but even evenings in summer and all other seasons you can enjoy swimming at the beach all day. However, some beaches are private (e.g. hotel or private property), crowded on weekends, no showers or very expensive parking areas and no shade. Lots to consider when we needed to find a nice picnic area or a beach., Especially, when we had no idea what we can do and what we should not do at the picnic area or the beach. So, I'll tell you what beach is my favourite one, where it is and what are the official and unofficial rules for visiting there./ 1. Beach for camping and cooking - Al Aqah Beach (called Snoopy Island and Aqua Beach) Benefit: It is suitable for camping, cooking even lighting bonfires. I saw many people snorkelling, swimming and fishing there also. I couldn't see anybody doing s...

Tell you all about Dubai prices & Living cost! 두바이 물가에 대한 고찰

Image
(After I had lived in Dubai over a few years) 몇년 살아본 주민 생각.   D ubai Prices are expensive than Chicago and definitely than Seoul Korea. Maybe some parts of goods would be cheaper than these major cities but the average costs for living in Dubai is much more expensive.    To explain about Dubai prices and the living cost, I should tell you my living style and backgrounds. First, I have two kids, one secondary and one primary student. They do not require any specific education or advanced care for normal living. Sometimes I bought some gift especially Christmas, and 1-2 times per quarter when they did something very good or family events. My kids don't have any additional education or extra education like an extra class for sports, golf or learning instruments (except a couple of years in Korea, one tutor had taught piano my daughter, will explain detail expenses for that). Annually, we used to travel to other countries, but smaller amounts of money used than Dubai even we ...

English media search information for Dubai, Abu Dhabi, UAE - 두바이, 아부다비, 아랍에미레이츠에 관한 영어 뉴스 및 정보 검색 등

English media search information for Dubai, Abu Dhabi, UAE 두바이, 아부다비, 아랍에미레이츠에 관한 영어 뉴스 및 정보 검색 등 One of the issue to live in Dubai, maybe in Abu Dhabi, in UAE is English news for this region. I know, many of information said this country is using English and Arabic as official languages, but actually, Arabic is a standard and translated version of English is the secondary one. Also, as an expat or a foreigner, some times I concerned about some military or political tensions in this region. Then, of course, I looked some news about the situation. But the problem was where can I see the news? which news can I believe? (Sorry, this country is not a democracy and freedom of speech country) So, I want to share what I saw and where checked news. 1. Daily news [Newspaper]/Gulf News: I had subscribed printed news but it was my mistake. Some times they didn't deliver (or someone stolen) and very expensive. You can read general and daily announced information such as changed rules, ro...
